Wow, I can’t count on my hand how many times I’ve been asked “Ok so I’ve done everything on your blog but I still don’t have the sales. What am I doing wrong?!” So I scope out each of their profiles and let me tell you: Covershots? Immaculate. Shares? See them daily. Likes? below average. Pricing? Generous. So what is the common denominator when it comes to their sales?
LOW FOLLOWERS.
So let me kind of give you a little insight as to what followers mean and how they play into your Poshmark sales! Followers are pretty much your fandom (Fan + Domain= Fandom). They follow you based on the look of your style and the items/brands that you have, or even your size in clothing! It’s a popularity contest in a way where anything that you list/ share/ like will be seen by your followers. Whether it’s your own item from your closet, or another closet, they will follow all activity that you do while you are exploring through the posh world.
The more followers you have the more love your closet is going to get, because if people don’t SEE your closet they’re not going to buy anything from it. Which means that your sales directly depend on how many followers you have. To counter that, if you have low followers that means your activity is being seen by the same few people and it’s not getting anywhere.
SO HOW DO I GET MORE FOLLOWERS???
It’s easy, I go over 3 full proof steps on how to gain more followers, and you’ll see your sales start to increase over time!
#1 – Start following people!
The benefit of following people, is that they follow back! There are 2 ways you can go about doing this as a newbie. First you can just go on a follow spree, where you click on a member’s name and click on their followers and see the list of people that follow them and start clicking on the follow button and start mowin’ down the list. Like so:
OR
You can start shopping followers. Which pretty much means that you’re shopping for closets to follow. The good news about this, is that you are tailoring your likes, shares, preferences, and overall Poshmark experience to be more catered to your wants and needs. Typically the people you follow, their listings show up in your feed & searches so you will constantly be surrounded by what you like, which makes the shopping experience much more enjoyable.
2. Sharing
Sharing is caring ladies! There is no doubt about it that it gets your name out there and it helps other people promote you when they share you back. People tend to follow you if A) they see you more often and B. If they like your stuff or the stuff you share. On your marks, get set, SHARE!!
3. Use the celebrity status you already have!
External platforms is an excellent way of getting your blog subscribers, instagram followers, or even Facebook friends and family to join Poshmark and follow you! In addition to that, have them register with your code so you get $10 posh credit and they will too. With a total up to $50. So get 10 people to sign up and you can get yourself a nice coach purse and a nice handful of followers. I mean if anyone wants to sign up through me be sure to sign up with your email and use my code HDUMJ.
So let me hit you with some knowledge! This came straight from Poshfest this year so listen up! According to Poshmark’s data analyst they say the biggest thing that posters should do in order to gain sales is engage in the app. What does that mean exactly? It means that you need to start commenting, liking, following, sharing…all the time. According to their data research, about 4000 followers is the sweet spot before your sales start to take off. About 2000 likes on all of your items combined you’ll start to notice an increase in sales as well. And they suggest about 5000 closets to follow before you start seeing a real impact in your sales. So however you go about doing it just make sure that you get to that amount so you can see your sales grow. Hopefully this helps you in the future, I hope that you’ll make tons and tons of sales and make lots and lots of money for this upcoming holiday season!
As always, if you have any questions feel free to put them in the comments below, or just hit me up on Poshmark!
Stay Healthy,

I know this is an old post but I’ve totally been creeping your blog for tips, ha! So I’m fairly new to Poshmark @toripetry and I have a question about this strategy – do you typically hold any quality standard when it comes to following people to gain followers? I guess the same quality question could go for shares too… Like, do you just follow (or share) anyone and anything or do you try to follow and share closets that fit your taste? Up till now I have tried to follow closets with good cover shots and stylish items so my feed is filled with items with good cover shots and stylish items for me to share, and my shares are good quality like my closet. But a lot of times, that means following fewer people because there are plenty of closets I could follow that don’t necessarily fit my taste. Should that matter at all if I’m mainly using Poshmark as a seller and not a buyer? I hope this question makes sense, haha. Would love to hear your thoughts!

If you’re looking for a good quality experience, which is ultimately what Poshmark wants you to have, then by all means continue what you’re doing. But if you’re looking to sell, I say you can’t be picky about who you sell to. Follow everyone and anyone, and try to broaden your horizons. If you still feel like wanting to stick to your guns and share certain items then stick to the brands you love or some of your favorite items. At the end of the day people are gonna buy what they want to buy, and at that point you can’t choose who buys your stuff. Let me know if you have other questions! Thanks for reading (and stalking) I love it!

My closet is @chyna726 I have some really nice items as well as some Coach products. I really wish sales would pick up. I share all day when time permits, follow, like, comment and buy on Posh, but it is not easy. Some people have all the luck.

Almost all my followers consist of people not interested in buying but people who want me to follow back, therefore making this ineffective for sales! Sharing also, by how poshmark is set up mobile wise its hard to see the shares.

Based on how the algorithms are made it really does help in marketing your items to their followers and such. Best of luck!!

Please take a look at this closet as an example with 274000 followers less than 350 following , less than 350 sharing .,, @kateo with 90% rate of sales!!
Numbers does add as you are advising !

Most likely, they started with Poshmark from the beginning to where they didn’t need to follow a bunch of people and they became a Suggested User and immediately got loads of followers. So despite their popularity, it doesn’t always equal sales.

Another effective way to add to your follower count is Follow Games. These are posts that users Like, & follow everyone who does the same. I have a Follow Game post in my closet in poshmark @mrfike.

It’s really easy, Ediza. Just make a posting, with a great eye-catching cover shot, of course. Like the post. Include instructions for viewers to:
1 Like the post
2 Follow everyone who’s liked
3 Share!
You can add mini-ga(mes like tag a few friends etc.
The key is SHARING!
I join every Follow Game I find, and even have a list of friends (opt-in of course), who I share the games with. They tag me, I send on to the group. I’ve found it to be one of the best ways to grow my closet.
Here’s a short (& regular) link to my Follow Game, I’ll also tag you.

I give you an example
Go to @kateo closet

She has such an imprecive records !
She has been the member since 2012
And only shared 349 items!
Although she is active in other networks which I folowed she does not directly post / shared from Poshmark
Her success is mostly her new and stylish item and the length of her membership
