Why You Should Be Re-Shopping Poshmark Closets.

I was thinking about this the other day and I was looking back on all my old purchases on the Poshmark App. Suddenly, I had re-kindled the ol flame that I once felt when I first saw some of the items that I purchased.

Typically, people with similar tastes have similar clothing in their closets, which is why Poshmark tries so hard to get you paired up with people with like style preferences. I for one love going back to previous sellers because building that repertoire really helps when shopping. Here are some great reasons to re-shop some of the old closets:

  1. Repeat customers get flexibility in price!
    So that 25% bundle discount may be 35% next go around. I personally am wayyyyyyyy more lenient to people who have purchased with me before than a newer buyer, because I know they will come back and shop again.
  2. You get your own personal shopper.
    For people that repeatedly come back to my closet, I know more about what they want, so when I shop for it, I know I have buyers in mind that would want to purchase the item. Rather than just shopping and *hoping* someone buys it.Screen Shot 2017-03-20 at 12.55.46 PM
  3. You have a seller you can trust.
    If you have a seller that gave you a good experience, then its a sure shot they are going to give you the same experience again. That ‘Thank You’ card, and that tissue paper, or even that extra bubble wrap around those precious Jimmy Choos so they didn’t get scuffed during shipment will happen again. So go with someone who will give you the same experience and go the extra mile.
  4. Lastly, because they’ve got the stuff you want. 
    Someone who has the same style as you, or someone who sells something that you like, is more likely to sell something that you would want again. There are tons of people on Poshmark who sell original pieces that if you truly adore, they will be making more designs that you will want too.

So go out there and shop away! It’s always good to re-kindle the old flame!

Poshmark Tip of the Day: How To Get Free Clothes On Poshmark.

For those of you who are looking how to get free clothes on Poshmark, look no further! Try throwing out your referral code! Anytime I mention that I use Poshmark, I immediately have each person sign up with my code.

Each time you sign someone up on Poshmark, you immediately get a referral credit of $5 that is on hold until that person purchases an item. Once they buy something on the app, that $5 is credited to you in the form of Posh Credit.

So if you want to rake in the free clothes, then start slapping your referral code on EVERYTHING. All your social media outlets should have your referral code, and anytime your post an item on Instagram, make sure to add your referral code in the description and tell them that they get $5 off using your code!

How To Negotiate On Poshmark


Here is a crash course on some simple negotiation tactics that’ll get you the sale that want and save money in your pocket! I’ve seen and experienced time and time again, people that miss so many opportunities to get such great deals because they don’t know these simple rules of negotiation.

Lesson 1: Making the Offer

Making an offer is easy, it is expected to be lower than the retail price, how low you want to go is dependent on you. Typically anything lower than 50% may start the negotiations in a rough place, so if you intend on going lower than that, be aware. If they decline, then resend an offer for higher, and see if they’ll bite again. 75%-90% offers get really high immediate acceptance rates, so that’s something to think about, you may just get a deal right off the bat!

Lesson 2: The Counteroffer.

This is the part that I feel I need to teach everyone. I would have to say a good chunk of the population think that if someone counters back that that is their lowest. NOT NECESSARILY!!! This just means they’re game! They are ready to rattle and roll, and if they’re done, you’ll know it, (I’ll get to it in the next lesson) but there’s still room to dance!

So unless they’ve sent a counter with one less 0 in it, then send your counter. This sets the pace of the negotiations. Go up $10 they may go down $10. Go up $1, you may be in for a loooooooong night!

Lesson 3: Enough is Enough.

When you or the seller are done at your highest, or their lowest to show that you are done you counter at the last bid you gave. How many times? I’d say 3…MAX. If you go above that, it’s just annoying. 2 is like, “yeah I’m done.” 3 is like, “yeah, for sure I’m done, so stop asking.” If you can’t agree on a price then it is what it is, nothing wrong with it, decline the offer and move on to the next item.

Lesson 4: In Conclusion

Man I can’t even count how many times I’ve lost deals with people who immediately see my counter and decline. Holy hell. It’s like I’VE insulted them by going lower on my listing price! But what people fail to realize is that I am, on average, still willing to go lower if they wanna continue negotiating! If I go lower and they stick to their original offer, then I know, this is the highest they’ll go. If I counter 3x with my same number, just know, THAT’S the lowest.
